LOS ANGELES, April 12, 2001 – Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:VCSY) and its Home Country Gateway (“HGC”) theUSBridge.com will present a town meeting, panel discussion and Webcast focusing on Internet use by Americans overseas. The event will take place at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on April 25, 2001, and will bring together leaders of expatriate organizations, consumer advocate Ralph Nader and legal experts in the field.

“There are nearly six million Americans living outside the United States,” Richard Wade, President of Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. said in announcing the event. “They are professionals, students, retirees, managers and workers in every imaginable industry. To a large degree, they have been forgotten. The purpose of the project is to launch theUSBridge.com’s new initiative to serve the interests of Americans around the world by providing current and useful content online about voting rights, taxation, healthcare, insurance, education, shipping, travel, and the full range of government activities affecting Americans abroad.

“There are some excellent organizations serving the specific needs of overseas military personnel and their dependents, government employees and private workers. theUSBridge.com is committing to serving as a gateway to the information and activities of those organizations,” said Basil Nikas, a spokesman for theUSBridge.com, who will join Mr. Nader and others on the day’s panel.

Ralph Nader, the Green Party candidate for President in 2000, will focus on privacy issues and the impact of consumer rights for Americans living outside the United States.

In addition to the presentation at the National Press Club for domestic and foreign press, the program will be Webcast on theUSBridge.com at 9:00 p.m. EDT on April 25, 2001 and will be available on demand after the Webcast in the electronic archives at www.theUSBridge.com.
